How to make a Roblox skin: 3D accessories and clothes
Make a hat, wings or a pet from one sentence in ARClip, export it and fit it on your avatar in Roblox Studio, plus a T-shirt from your own picture.

In Roblox, your skin is everything your avatar wears: clothes printed on the body, and 3D accessories like hats, wings, backpacks and a pet on the shoulder. Clothes are pictures, accessories are 3D models, and ARClip makes both.
A 3D accessory from one sentence
- Create a project in ARClip and describe the item: "a small golden crown, cartoon style", "a pair of crystal wings", "a tiny dragon that sits on the shoulder". A textured 3D model lands in the scene. You can also attach a photo or a drawing to copy. 3D models from a sentence or a photo
- Not quite it? Describe it again with more detail, then scale and turn it in the editor.
- Keep it simple. An accessory is small on screen, and Roblox limits how heavy avatar items can be.
- Open Export scene and choose Export GLB (it keeps materials and textures) or Export FBX.
Put it on your avatar in Roblox Studio
- In Roblox Studio choose File → Import and pick the file. Studio reads FBX, OBJ and glTF, and keeps the textures from FBX and glTF.
- On the Avatar tab start the Accessory Fitting Tool. Pick your model, choose where it goes (hat, back, shoulder and so on), set it in place on the test character and create the accessory.
- Use it in your own experience. Selling it in the Marketplace has extra requirements, listed in Creator Hub.
Clothes: a T-shirt from your own picture
The simplest piece of clothing is a classic T-shirt: one picture on the front of the body.
- In ARClip, describe the picture or attach a drawing, and get it on a transparent background: "a cute dragon sticker, flat colours". Cut-outs without masking
- Frame it, open Snapshot, tick Transparent background and click Download PNG.
- Upload it in Creator Hub as a classic T-shirt. Roblox takes a small upload fee in Robux and shows the price before you confirm.
Shirts and pants work the same way, except the picture follows Roblox's 585×559 template: a shirt covers the torso and arms, pants cover the legs. Download the template from Creator Hub and fill its parts with your pictures.
Show it off outside Roblox
Your accessory is an ARClip scene as well. Publish it, and it stands on a table in AR, sits on a website or becomes part of a multiplayer browser game. Built something bigger in Roblox Studio? Bring it over.
