ARClip or ShapesXR

ShapesXR is for teams designing XR interfaces and spaces right in a headset and in a web editor: at 1:1 scale, together, with Figma import and handoff to Unity. The company lists Microsoft, Google, Meta, Ford and Walmart among its customers. ARClip is an editor where a team builds 3D, AR and VR scenes together, generates models with AI and publishes by link: in a phone browser, in an app and in a headset.

Free — unlimited projects, views and publishing

Choose ARClip if

  • viewers have to be in the scene together — games, tours, meetings
  • viewers shouldn't have to install anything
  • you need to count views and devices
  • you want to publish a project for free
  • AR has to start from packaging, a poster or a business card

Choose ShapesXR if

  • you turn Figma designs into spatial prototypes
  • the prototype has to go to developers in Unity
  • you need AR right in the headset, over the room
  • people should view the scene on a computer too

Already have projects in ShapesXR? Build new ones in ARClip and move the old ones over gradually: models and video upload as they are.

What ARClip gives you for AR and VR

  • Every kind of AR in one editor

Image or QR code, surface, face and 360° — pick the kind for each scene in a project. VPS ties content to a real place.

    How it works
  • Interactivity without code

Pick an event and its steps: tap an object, and an animation plays, a state changes or a card opens.

    How it works
  • Animation on a timeline

Keyframes, easing and presets, plus the animations that came with your model.

    How it works
  • Interface over the camera

Buttons, menus, quizzes and a game score — UI cards connected to the scene.

    How it works
  • Code when you need it

TypeScript scripts with physics, data and server functions — for games and complex mechanics.

    How it works
  • One link for every device

One link and QR code: phones open the scene in the browser, iPhones also through an App Clip with nothing to install, and VR headsets in their own browser.

    How it works
  • Together in one scene

Multiplayer with up to 30 people per room — for games, tours and meetings, with no server of your own.

How to move your ShapesXR projects to ARClip Design

What moves over as files

  1. In ShapesXR, export the space as glTF (Collaboration menu → Export; files land in Dashboard → My Files → Exported) — ARClip takes the glTF as it is, together with its .bin and textures or as a zip. Export is included on the free plan.
  2. Create an “AR scene” project in ARClip and upload the files — models as GLB, glTF, FBX or OBJ, videos and images.

What to rebuild — and with what

Rebuild ShapesXR scenes and transitions as ARClip states and events, and the interface in the UI editor. Work together right in the editor: cursors, chat and voice.

Fastest with AI: describe the project to the assistant in the editor, or connect Claude or Cursor via MCP, and the agent builds the scene from your files and description.

Publish the project and put the new link or QR code where the old ones were.

Questions

Do viewers need to install an app?

No. The project opens from a link or QR code right in the phone's browser. On iPhone it can also start through an App Clip, with nothing to install from the App Store.

Does the AR work on iPhone?

Yes — in Safari and other iPhone browsers, as well as in the ARClip app and through an App Clip.

Can I open the project in a VR headset?

Yes — with the same link in the headset's browser: Quest, Pico, Vision Pro, PC VR.

Can I move a project over from ShapesXR?

Models (GLB, glTF, FBX, OBJ) and video move over as they are; anchoring and logic have to be rebuilt — see the steps above.

Can we build a scene together?

Yes. Everyone sees each other in the editor, writes in the project chat, comments on objects and talks by voice or video with screen sharing.
