ARClip or Miro

Miro is one of the most popular online whiteboards, with thousands of templates, hundreds of integrations and tools for workshops. ARClip is a board for teams who work in 3D: models, images and video sit on one canvas, and a finished scene can go on a website or be shown in AR.

Free — unlimited projects, views and publishing

Choose ARClip if

  • the board needs real 3D models, not screenshots of them
  • you want to lay out references in 2D and walk through them in 3D
  • you need 3D models fast, from a description or a photo
  • the result has to go on a website or be shown in AR
  • you'd rather generate images and video for the board right on the canvas

Choose Miro if

  • you organize the board into frames
  • you need tables, mind maps or kanban
  • you need the board's version history
  • the board has to work with your task tracker and team chat

You can use both: keep workshops and planning in Miro and do the 3D work in ARClip. Export the parts of the board you need from Miro as images or a PDF and drop them onto the canvas.

What ARClip adds to a board

  • As many boards as you like, free

There is no limit on boards on any plan, the free one included.

  • 3D models right on the board

Drop a 3D model — GLB, glTF, FBX or OBJ — next to your sticky notes and references — rotate it and see it from every side instead of squinting at a screenshot.

    How it works
  • AI on the canvas

Generate an image, a video or a 3D model from a description right on the board, and let the assistant add and arrange things for you. Generation uses AI credits.

    How it works
  • The team is on the board

Live edits, comments on the canvas, chat, voice, video and screen sharing — no separate call app needed.

    How it works
  • Workshops run on plugins

Timer and Voting are shared by everyone: one countdown and one vote per person. Missing a tool? Take a plugin from the Creator Hub or write your own.

How to move your Miro projects to ARClip Design

What moves over as files

  1. In Miro, open the board menu → Board → Export and pick an image. On the Free plan the image is watermarked.
  2. Create a “2D board” project in ARClip and drop the images or the PDF onto the canvas: each PDF page lands as its own picture, in order.

What to rebuild — and with what

Rebuild sticky notes, text and arrows on the ARClip canvas — the same tools are there. Frames become separate scenes in the project, and voting and the timer come from the Voting and Timer plugins.

Fastest with AI: describe the project to the assistant in the editor, or connect Claude or Cursor via MCP, and the agent builds the scene from your files and description.

Invite your team: you can work on the board together in real time.

Questions

Can I move a board over from Miro?

Not with editable sticky notes yet: the board moves over as images or a PDF — see the steps above; each PDF page lands on the canvas as its own picture. You can add 3D models right next to them.

Do sticky notes and arrows end up in the published scene?

Not by default: notes, arrows and drawings are working material that only project members see. To show one to viewers, clear its “Editor only” box.

Can we work together in real time?

Yes. Everyone sees each other on the canvas, writes in the project chat, leaves comments on objects and talks by voice or video with screen sharing. The Friends section shows which friends are in the editor right now — you can ask to join their project.

Do I need to install anything?

No, ARClip runs in the browser. There's also an app for macOS, Windows and Linux if you prefer.
